WONDERFUL, VERY UNUSUAL LARGE SCALE, VINTAGE CARDBOARD PAPER MICA GLITTER COVERED CHRISTMAS VILLAGE PUTZ CHURCH. Perfect for your your Christmas Village, Nativity, Putz or Model Railroad, under the tree. And what a great large size!! Christmas village decorations such as these, were sold in the local five and dime stores, from small towns to large metro cities after WWII, when exports from Japan to the U.S. began again. This was the "Golden Age" of Christmas Holiday decoration, 1940's-1960's. Beautiful detailing and coloration. Unusual deep pitched roof design. Tall bell tower to the side, removable steeple. Heavy mica snow glitter covers the front, base, roof and sides of the building, for a beautiful, wintry snow effect. Large lichen trees are secure to the base. The village putz church is in very good vintage condition, as shown in the photos. Cellophane door and windows are there and intact, a few slits, can be easily restored or replaced....just so you are aware. It has the original hole in the back to insert a small size light, which is what we have done, to show the lovely glow of Christmases past thru the windows and door. The church measures about 7 1/2" tall, 6" wide, and 3 1/4" deep. It is ink stamped on the bottom, "MADE IN JAPAN". What a great addition for your CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY collection!!!!
