UNUSUAL VINTAGE CARDBOARD OCCUPIED JAPAN CHRISTMAS VILLAGE PUTZ HOUSE
WONDERFUL, VERY UNUSUAL VINTAGE CARDBOARD, PAPER MICA GLITTER COVERED CHRISTMAS VILLAGE PUTZ HOUSE. Perfect for your your Christmas Village, Nativity, Putz or Model Railroad, under the tree. Christmas village decorations such as these, were sold in the local five and dime stores, from small towns to large metro cities after WWII, when exports from Japan to the U.S. began again. This was the "golden age" of Christmas Holiday decoration, 1940's-1960's. Beautiful detailing and coloration. Unusual pitched roof on main building, little side shed with slanted roof design. Heavy mica snow glitter covers the front, base, roof and sides of the house, for a beautiful, wintery snow effect. Small lichen shrub, secure to the base. The village putz house is in very good vintage condition, as shown in the photos. Cellophane door and windows are there and intact. It has the original hole in the back to insert a small to medium size light, which is what we have done, to show the lovely glow of Christmases past thru the windows and door. The house measures about 4 7/8" wide, 4" tall, and 2 7/8" deep. It is ink stamped on the bottom, "MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN". What a great addition for your CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY collection!!!!
