WONDERFUL VINTAGE ART PORCELAIN, MAY HOLIDAY ANGEL BOY FIGURINE. What a lovely old Holiday decoration. Rare to find boy angel figurines these days. Many ceramic companies produced a full line of Holiday, Birthday and decorative Angel and pixie figurines during the 1940's-1960's, along with Lefton, Inarco, Napco and other factories of that time. It was considered the "Golden Age" of ceramic and porcelain Holiday decorations such as these! Beautiful detailing into the cast porcelain mold. Intricate raised relief flowers on the sides of his pants and at his feet. Rich, hand painted coloration. Gold accents to his halo, wings, his clothes, the ribbon on his package. He holds a gift, package in his hands. The May angel boy is in very good vintage condition, free of chips or cracks, as shown in the photos. He measures about 4 1/2" tall. He has the original paper tag on the bottom,"ART JAPAN". He would have been produced in Japan, and imported to the U.S. for sale in specialty stores across the country.
